Pens and Writing Materials for your Business Offices
Even in the age of computer and everything is almost done by typing, nothing still beats writing down the information as the very second we need to remember them. So, here are writing materials that will enable you to jot down those essential office information.
  1. Ballpen has a small metal ball as the point of transfer of ink to paper. We use this as our writing instrument which applies ink on the surface of a paper.
Pens can be used with inks of any color but commonly make use of inks in shades varying between black and blue, and red.
The common type of pen that is used is the ballpoint pen which has a ball on the tip.
Gel pens are gel inked ballpoint pens. They may come in many different sizes and in a huge variety of colors. They are primarily used for thin patterns or writing, but can be used for coloring small areas. This kind of pen can also vary with the size of the ballpoint to suit what the user needs
Popular brands of pens are Dong-A, Panda ballpens, Uni, Pilot, HBW. They can also be classified according to its ball point, it can be either 0.5MM-0.7MM that determines the thickness of its shade.

  2. Chalks are used to write texts or drawings on a chalkboard or blackboard. This is highly used in schools and offices for lectures or presentations. There are different colors of chalks available but the most commonly used one is color white. Dustless chalks are now available. Usually, there are 20 pieces of chalks per box. There are also colored chalks that can serve many other purposes for easier presentation of materials and modules.
The usual type of chalks are the ones with yellow or white enamel or called yellow enamel / white enamel chalks used in schools and government blackboards or announcement purposes and normally the cheapest ones.

  3. An Eraser is used for removing pencil and sometimes pen writings. Erasers have a rubbery consistency, and they are often white, brown or pink. Although with modern materials they can be of any color and shapes. Many pencils are equipped with an eraser on one end.
Typical erasers are made of rubber, but more expensive or specialized erasers can also contain vinyl, plastic, or gum-like materials.

  4. A Highlighter is a form of marker pen used to highlight sections of documents in a vivid color, while leaving the content beneath the marking not obscured. Highlighter ink is translucent.
Many highlighters come in bright, often fluorescent colors. Being fluorescent, highlighter ink glows under a black light. The most common color for highlighters is yellow, but they are also available in pink, blue, green, orange, and purple.

  5. Marker Pen or Pentel Pen refers to various kinds of pens which have their own ink-source and usually a tip made of some porous material.
There are different kinds of marker:
    • Large-tip markers, typically used for writing on non-paper surfaces.
    • Medium-tip markers, typically used by children for coloring in.
    • Fine-tip markers, typically used for writing on paper.
    • Wide-tip markers, typically used for highlighting text that is already present on paper.

  6. Pencils are writing or drawing instruments consisting of a thin stick of and clay, usually encased in a thin wood cylinder though paper and plastic sheaths are also used. Pencils are distinct from pens, which use a liquid marking material. Pencil marks can be easily erased by erasers unlike pens.

  7. Sign Pen is a fiber tipped pen. Water-based ink writes expressive, bold lines. Ideal for drawing, general writing and adding style to any signature.

  8. Transparency pen is used to illustrate, clarify, or highlight a point. If you plan to use a transparency over again, be sure to use a water-soluble transparency pen. You may want to cover transparencies with clear sleeves to avoid damaging your original.

  9. Whiteboard Markers are often used for making markings where permanence is not required. These are usually used on overhead projectors or overhead transparencies, or whiteboards. It can be erased with a cloth or paper towel. These markers are generally used on non-porous surfaces, as the ink used in the marker has to adhere to the writing surface without being absorbed. Whiteboard Markers are available in colors of red, blue and black.
